Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Motorola Edge 40 Neo Highlights
The Lenovo-owned smartphone brand Motorola has been struggling to achieve some standing and market share in India for quite a long now. It has been facing stiff competition from Chinese giants like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Redmi, and Nothing phone for that matter. Motorola has found little to no success in achieving it with the company’s market share in the Indian Smartphone Market being merely 3.5% as of now (source: click here). Although Motorola itself is a Chinese brand as Lenovo is a Chinese company that acquired it from an American company but falls under the premium segment which has not yet taken off in India so widely.
But when it comes to the premium smartphone segment in India Apple, OnePlus and Samsung have somewhat been able to create a niche for themselves in the hypercompetitive Indian Smartphone Market but Motorola has not been able to do that yet and is betting big on its Edge Series, and that is what we have today for you, a smartphone knockout of Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Motorola Edge 40 Neo.
- Released in September last year the Motorola Edge 40 Neo had some of the best features which even the latest Chinese Smartphones today being launched in India lack. But as we said earlier Motorola has failed to create a market for itself and launched its latest model of Edge series the Motorola Edge 50 Pro launched this month.
- The Motorola Edge 50 Pro comes with three color variants with the Edge 40 Neo having a plus one with four color variants and all the colors are quite aesthetic and have a stunning finish. So both models get a point in color offerings.
- Coming to the Processor the Edge 50 Pro takes the lead in this parameter with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 Chipset compared to its rival chipset MediaTek Dimensity 7030 which is used in the September released Edge 40 Neo. For a detailed comparison of Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 vs MediaTek Dimensity 7030 please click here.
- The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is a better option when it comes to the display offering a bigger resolution and 2000 nits of peak brightness. The Edge 40 Neo comes with a P-OLED display which is more or less the same as an OLED display but the former is a foldable and a cheaper version giving manufacturers some cushion in cost but the Edge 40 Neo only has a peak brightness of just 1300. So Edge 50 Pro gets a thumbs up in the display. For a detailed comparison between P-OLED and OLED display please click here.
- Talking about the front and rear cameras then the Edge 50 Pro turns out to be a winner as it offers a triple rear camera (50+13+10) and a 50MP front camera compared to its rival Edge 40 Neo which only offers a dual rear camera (50+13) and a 32MP front camera. We don’t have access to the image quality and only on the basis of the features being offered, we declare the Edge 50 Pro a winner.
- The Edge 40 Neo comes with a bigger battery of 5000 mAh compared to the Edge 50 Pro which has a 4500 mAh non-removable battery but what makes the Motorola Edge 50 Pro a winner is the wireless charger of 50W, which is a big feature and offering in today’s busy life.
- Coming at the prices the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is not yet officially launched in India. We have to wait for a few days more to know what it is actually worth, but according to the speculations and leaks the 8GB+256GB variant will be priced somewhere around RS 27,999 to RS 30,999 and the 12GB+256GB variant might come for RS 33,999 to RS 35,999. All these prices exclude the offers that the company and e-commerce giants might offer, but if you believe us then even if the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is priced at the figures above mentioned then it’s worth every penny considering the features it is offering.
So this was our analysis of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Motorola Edge 40 Neo and we would love to inform the potential buyers that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is a go-to option if you are ready to spare some extra cash which might be not a huge difference once the phone is launched and the offers kick in. So stay tuned for all the updates and help us guide you to your ultimate smartphone experience.
